Engineered Journey: My Return Odyssey From A Tumultuous Hiatus.

Dear Reader,

It has been a little over a year since I last posted an article on Engineered Journey. If you are still with me and reading, thank you. I hope you’ve been well during these trifling times. A lot has happened both in my personal life and the world in the past year. My absence does not have an excuse, I got busy, work became overwhelming, family obligations took priority, the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the world and my industry. All of which contributed to me losing motivation to write.

However, things have calmed down and I find myself with free time again to write articles I hope others find helpful. I understand my blog is a little unfocused and all over the place in terms of topics. But ultimately, this website is a small reflection of who I am and some parts of my identity. The goal here is for me to share my likes and dislikes, ranging from my work in engineering to my media consumption habits to my interests in finance and the FI/RE movement.

This post is my attempt to reignite the fire for my desire to share my thoughts and experiences with you. I know it will not be easy as motivation and discipline are rather fickle for me, easily disappearing. However, I will see my year-long gap from posting on Engineering Journey as a small detour on my journey through life.

So now what? Where am I in my life? Where does Engineering Journey go from here?

Well now I’d like to continue the regularly scheduled program of posting articles relating to my engineering job, my interest in finance, books, and anything else I enjoy. As of this moment, I have began a new role on my Engineered Journey for a new national general contractor as a Field Engineer which I will discuss further in following articles. I look forward to sharing more with you here on Engineered Journey.

It’s good to be back and until the next post, you can read my previous post here.

Yours truly,

– E J
